Case Study

HR restructuring

Optimisation plan and construction of a Job Retention Scheme for an automobile manufacturer

Context & Objectives

Our client is a tier 1 and 2 automotive supplier

The pandemic, which led to a sudden drop in activity, led the General Management to activate a Job Retention Scheme. Management also wants to utilise this Job Retention Scheme to reflect on the avenues for progress for the organisation, particularly at an Operations level. At the same time, the content of Publication 2 must be finalised by summer 2020

The client asked us to support them in the construction of the target organisation according to the scenarios of decline in activity and the design of the Operations progress plan

Procedural approach

Construction of the JRS in pairs between the GM and the HRM on the one hand, who ensured communication and compliance with the rules of formalism of the JRS, and the Consultant, who built the target system based on different scenarios of reduction of the activity (writing of content in Publication 2 section 5) as well as the design of the Operations progress plan

Full integration of the Consultant into the client teams to ensure that the definition of professional categories, order criteria and other critical points of the Job Retention Scheme are intelligently taken into account

  • The General Management has a very high level of confidence in the quality of the deliverable (Publication 2) provided
  • Strong involvement of the various COMEX members on the client’s side as part of the definition of the target organisation
  • Identification of accurate sources of performance (Supply Chain Planning, Indirect Purchasing) as part of the Operations review
